We are seeking a Speech Language Pathology – Assistant to join our team in DFW - all areas available.

This is a licensed professional who provides therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with speech, language, hearing, and cognitive disorders. Coordinates care for patients of all age groups with OT and PT providers. Implements patient care plans to restore or maintain patient wellbeing. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team.

Position Details

  • Document, prepare/revises and completes progress notes, forms, and other clinical record documentation on an ongoing basis.
  • Analyze patient needs and administer appropriate care as ordered by physician and as designed by supervising SLP.
  • Applies concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating/performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
  • Accept clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients.
  • Uses effective interpersonal relations and communication skills; facilitates the use of these skills by other team members to achieve desirable outcomes.
  • Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/licensing board.
  • Provides appropriate treatments following the individualized plan for speech, language, and cognition disorders.
  • Maintain pertinent records of specific progress made.
  • Educate patient/family concerning patient deficits, patient progress, ways to facilitate progression through their plan of care, and appropriate discharge planning.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology form an accredited college or university
  • Current Texas State License in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Texas Driver's License.
