Job Summary : As a Shift Supervisor at Quality Wash Solutions, you'll be a key part of the leadership team, overseeing the day to day operations of a shift at our tank wash facility in Houston, TX. You'll ensure all tank trailers and ISOs are cleaned and prepared according to strict quality and safety standards. This role involves supervising and training a team of Tank Wash Technicians, managing schedules, maintaining a safe working environment, and ensuring all operational and administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time. Bilingual (English / Spanish) proficiency preferred.
Essential Functions :
Direct and supervise shift activities of the tank wash team, ensuring all cleaning, inspection, and maintenance procedures for tank trailers and ISOs are followed correctly and efficiently.Monitor the flow of trailers through the wash bay, optimizing workflow and minimizing downtime.Conduct pre- and post-cleaning inspections to guarantee all units meet the company's quality control standards.Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, and place orders as needed to prevent shortages.Enforce all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to confined space entry procedures.Ensure all team members are trained on and understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals used.Regularly inspect the facility and equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations.Oversee the accurate completion of all required paperwork, including confined space entry permits, billing, and work orders.Utilize company software to track wash tickets, billing, and safety records.Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to management.Searches for identifying or management data on items of supply. Compares data listed on documents with reference sources such as federal catalogs, stock lists, or other publications. Receives requests desiring additional identification data, verification, or comparison of data on hand with reference sources. Searches for stock number, prices, descriptions, sources of supply,Performs other duties as assigned.Education : High School Diploma or GED.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (Competencies) :
Proven experience in a supervisory or lead role within a tank wash, industrial cleaning, or chemical handling environment.In-depth knowledge of tank cleaning processes, chemicals, and equipment.Strong understanding of safety regulations, especially those related to confined spaces and chemical handling.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Proficiency in basic computer software and the ability to learn and use industry-specific software.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to understand and explain complex safety and operational procedures.Experience : 3+ years of experience in a tank wash or chemical handling, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.Certifications : Confined Space Entry and Rescue certification is a plus.Valid driver's license highly preferred.Bilingual (English / Spanish) proficiency preferred.Supervisory Responsibility :
Schedule and assign tasks to Tank Wash Technicians, ensuring adequate staffing on shift.Supervises team tank wash technicians, including all aspects of hiring, scheduling, training, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions up to and including termination
Train new employees on proper tank wash procedures, safety protocols, and the use of all equipment, including atmospheric testing and rescue gear for confined spaces.Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and address any disciplinary issues.Foster a positive and collaborative team environment focused on safety and quality.Quality Carriers, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
