Job Summary
The CT Technologist operates CT scanners to obtain diagnostic images of specified body parts as requested. The technologist must be able to produce quality images for radiologist interpretation and function independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Greet patients, verify name and birthdate, and obtain pertinent historyReview orders, documentation, medications, allergies, and questionnairesExplain procedures and answer patient questions to ensure understandingCommunicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staffPosition patients, perform scans, and archive procedures per protocolUtilize venipuncture techniques and administer contrast media as requiredIdentify, prepare, administer, and document medications appropriatelyReconcile medications to avoid interactions with contrast mediaAssist physicians with invasive procedures when applicableVerify physician orders for accuracy and act accordinglyUse radiation-reducing techniques without compromising image qualityProtect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary radiation exposureWear and store dosimeter correctly, ensuring timely exchangeAssist coworkers with IV starts, computer functions, and patient prepSafely move patients and minimize risk of falls or injuriesAdhere to hospital / imaging center policies and core valuesDuration & Schedule
13 weeksMonday–Friday, 2 : 30 PM–1 : 00 AM (4x10 shifts)Every 4th weekend, 2 : 30 PM–1 : 00 AMAbility to switch with another tech for RTO weekend coverageCover occasional 3rd shift vacation daysExams Performed
Cardiac, TAVR, CTA, Code Stroke, HD, CAP, Spine
Requirements : \n\nEXPERIENCE : \n\nKnowledge of medical terminology, isolation, sterile techniques, patient positioning, and imaging equipment operation (required)\nMinimum 2 years of CT experience (preferred)\nExperience with Phillips CT, Bracco injector, EPIC, PACS : McKesson, OP, IP, ER exams (preferred)\n\nLICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS : \n\nARRT certification\nOhio Radiographer License\nBLS (American Heart Association)\nCT Registered (required)\n\nEDUCATION : \n\nGraduation from an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program (required)
