Job Summary

The CT Technologist operates CT scanners to obtain diagnostic images of specified body parts as requested. The technologist must be able to produce quality images for radiologist interpretation and function independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, verify name and birthdate, and obtain pertinent history
  • Review orders, documentation, medications, allergies, and questionnaires
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions to ensure understanding
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff
  • Position patients, perform scans, and archive procedures per protocol
  • Utilize venipuncture techniques and administer contrast media as required
  • Identify, prepare, administer, and document medications appropriately
  • Reconcile medications to avoid interactions with contrast media
  • Assist physicians with invasive procedures when applicable
  • Verify physician orders for accuracy and act accordingly
  • Use radiation-reducing techniques without compromising image quality
  • Protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary radiation exposure
  • Wear and store dosimeter correctly, ensuring timely exchange
  • Assist coworkers with IV starts, computer functions, and patient prep
  • Safely move patients and minimize risk of falls or injuries
  • Adhere to hospital / imaging center policies and core values

    • Duration & Schedule

  • 13 weeks
  • Monday–Friday, 2 : 30 PM–1 : 00 AM (4x10 shifts)
  • Every 4th weekend, 2 : 30 PM–1 : 00 AM
  • Ability to switch with another tech for RTO weekend coverage
  • Cover occasional 3rd shift vacation days

    • Exams Performed

    Cardiac, TAVR, CTA, Code Stroke, HD, CAP, Spine

    Requirements : \n\nEXPERIENCE : \n\nKnowledge of medical terminology, isolation, sterile techniques, patient positioning, and imaging equipment operation (required)\nMinimum 2 years of CT experience (preferred)\nExperience with Phillips CT, Bracco injector, EPIC, PACS : McKesson, OP, IP, ER exams (preferred)\n\nLICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS : \n\nARRT certification\nOhio Radiographer License\nBLS (American Heart Association)\nCT Registered (required)\n\nEDUCATION : \n\nGraduation from an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program (required)
