Position Summary :

Responsible for the technical operation and scientific oversight of the cytogenetics laboratory.

Reports to : Supervisor, Lab

FLSA : Non-exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Assist with orientation and training of personnel and students.

Participates and attends meetings as required and / or assigned.

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS : Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree

Master's degree (Preferred)

Formal training in CPT and ICD coding (Preferred)

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications :

ASCP or equivalent registry

Minimum Work Experience

3 years as cytogenetic technologist (Preferred)
