About the Role :
As a Senior Project Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for providing financial and business support to our Project Managers while preparing comprehensive action plans, resources, timeframes and budgets for projects and senior leadership.
You will perform various tasks, including scheduling and risk management, maintaining project documentation, handling financial queries and other administrative duties.
To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.
What You Will Be Doing :
- Provide oversight of Project Controls Specialists and Project Coordinators
- Assign projects and monitor progress of project controls team members
- Work closely with Leadership to maintain consistent processes and incorporate new tools, templates, and methodologies
- Review roll-up of project portfolio to identify risks and opportunities
- Maintain good communication with all stakeholders and facilitate project management best practices across the organization
- Lead project controls for large, complex projects, and Major Projects
- Review, manage, and create tools for project reporting at the corporate level
- Develop and maintain specialized reports for Senior Leadership use
- Work closely with the contracts team on contract management, reviews and organization
- Responsible for supporting project management activities in developing, updating and tracking project costs and schedule, producing reports, as well as maintaining associated systems
- Develop proposals and baseline schedules using Microsoft Project
- Coordinate with clients and team leads to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives
- Prepare reports that outline the projects financial positions in areas of funding and costs
- Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
- Make sure the client’s needs are being met as projects evolve
- Coordinate change orders with subconsultants
- Analyze risks and opportunities
- Use tools to monitor project progress, working hours, expenditures and project cash flow
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
- Ensure standards and requirements are being met through QA / QC
- Collaborate with Pickett’s Business Operations Manager regarding compilation of invoices for review by Project Manager(s)
What You Bring :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business or related field (preferred)PMP certification (required)Minimum of 8 years of experience in project cost and schedule controls (required)Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner (required)Experience with Primavera P6 (preferred)Hands-on experience with project management tools, Earned Value, Risk Analysis, ERPs or similar accounting tool (required)Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance controlKnowledge of project management, from conception to delivery, scheduling and cost control techniquesAbility to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plansExcellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)Strong client-facing, teamwork and organizational skills, including multitasking and time- managementAbility to work well in a team environment with minimal supervisionAbility to work in a safe manner and obey safety regulations at all timesMust be proactive, detail oriented and highly organizedCandidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policySo...Why Join Us?
