Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment / Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and heavy construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role requires a strong understanding of diesel systems, hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems for heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes).
- Conduct preventative maintenance services according to manufacturer specifications and company schedules.
- Troubleshoot issues using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
- Inspect, test, and operate machinery to verify repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and hours billed.
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Collaborate with other technicians and service staff to ensure timely service delivery.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements :
Requirements : Must be 18 years of age or older : High school diploma or GED; technical school or formal diesel mechanic training preferred
3+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment technician.Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.Proficient with diagnostic tools and service software.Clean and valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus).Ability to lift 20+ lbs. and work in various environments (indoors / outdoors).Preferred Qualifications :
ASE or OEM certifications (CAT, John Deere, Cummins, etc.)Welding and fabrication skillsCDL Class A or B licenseFamiliarity with telematics and computerized diagnostic systemsWork Environment :
