The Regulatory Affairs Specialist position involves various functions that includes raw material and formulation reviews to assure Sherwin-Williams complies with all regulations for general use and food contact purposes. The primary focus for this role is North America and involves projects of varying complexity which requires high levels of communication within the immediate Packaging Regulatory group as well as our internal and external customers. This is aimed to develop and maintain positive relationships in the industry and provide better service to our customers.

- Perform comprehensive activities in the administration of raw material and supplier regulatory compliance; product compliance; and regulatory registrations / reporting within the North America Packaging Regulatory Affairs team
- Coordinate regulatory affairs matters with other departments, locations and divisions. Requires interface with the Technical, Purchasing, Sales / Marketing, Global Packaging, Corporate Regulatory Affairs and IT groups
- Apply department policies and procedures; applicable laws, rules, and regulations; and the Sherwin-Williams Safety by Design development protocol, ensuring compliance with these areas.
- Assist with developing and implementing regulatory affairs policies and procedures
- Respond to internal and external customer inquiries related to regulatory issues and develop / maintain positive relationships in the industry
- Handle multiple projects of varying complexity and timelines
Minimum Requirements :
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of ageMust be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1,Must have a bachelors degree or higher or higherMust have three (3) years of experience in chemical industryPreferred Qualification :
Have a bachelors degree or higher in Chemistry and Chemical EngineeringHave experience in coatings or polymers chemistryHave experience with SDS authoring, food packaging regulations, chemical control regulations, health, safety and environmental regulations and an awareness of new and emerging initiatives in these areas
