The responsibilities are to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in journalism, preparing our students for an aspect of the industry that is undergoing tremendous change. We are looking for someone with a contemporary understanding of how broadcast journalism is executed, its role in a well-informed society, and how video is effectively used across many organizations and platforms. This Associate Professor of the Practice will be committed to the highest standards of journalism while promoting the kinds of innovations necessary to make journalism relative and sustainable.The BU Department of Journalism, the largest in New England, is a comprehensive program that offers instruction in all media platforms. Recognition at the regional level is a given and recognition at the national level is desired.A track record of innovation and a strong grasp of many facets of broadcast journalism, whether in front of the camera, or as a producer, or as an executive.The qualifications for an appointment as an associate professor of the practice at Boston University.A master’s degree is preferred; a doctorate is desirable.
