Job Description
Functional ownership of logistics planning for the National Business Line
Logistics optimization including storing and shipping
Logistics inventory management such as fleet management and third party courier vendors
Management of logistics for inbound and outbound supplies
Establishing and managing potential remote drop locations with logistics to support
Establishment of annual, short-term, and long-term logistics related plans.
Analyzing existing data and implementing changes to optimize sample movement between client and laboratory and between laboratories. Looking for new ways to improve transportation processes.
Assisting laboratory management in the establishment of courier sample routes.
Preparing weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting related to Logistics including tracking time tables and costs
Maintain relationships with carriers and track and analyze transit times, rates, and procedures.
Work with procurement on improved logistics vendor contracts (including vehicles and other logistics assets)
Other job duties as needed.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.
Strong Logistics skills particularly in route optimization between laboratory and client and between laboratories.
Effective communication skills (listening, oral, and written).
Advanced project management skills and ability to influence others.
Education : Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field required
MBA in Logistics or related field valued
Experience : 15+ years of Logistics experience required.
APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional preferred
Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
Ability to travel up to 25% of time.
Maintain working office at one of our Houston, TX laboratory location.
Fluent in English written and Oral language
