Travel Nursing Job Details

Position : Travel Med / Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

Location : Shelby, North Carolina (NC 28150)

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment

Unit : Medical / Surgical & Telemetry (32 beds)

Start Date : September 29, 2025

End Date : December 27, 2025

Assignment Length : 13 weeks

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (6 : 30am – 7 : 00pm)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week

Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend

Holiday Coverage : 75% of holidays required

Scrub Color : Navy

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1470–$1570 per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active and unencumbered RN license (North Carolina or compact state)

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications

Minimum 18 months of recent Medical / Surgical or Telemetry RN experience

Proficient in Med / Tele nursing skills : cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), wound care, drain / tube management, PIV starts, central line management

Epic EMR experience preferred

First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care to adults with diverse diagnoses, including stroke, respiratory illnesses (flu, pneumonia, COVID-19), renal failure, peritoneal dialysis, and wound management

Maintain patient ratios of 1 : 5 for optimal care

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team : CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV / VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists

Utilize Epic EMR and advanced unit technology, including virtual nursing cameras

Manage admissions, discharges, medication administration, and continuous patient monitoring

Foster a positive, patient-centered unit culture focused on teamwork and professional growth
