Job Summary : Leads the floral department by creating high-quality floral arrangements, driving sales, and delivering outstanding customer service. Oversees daily operations, maintains product freshness, supports inventory control, and guides partners in the execution of department standards and expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Creates eye-catching floral arrangements and plant displays using a strong design aesthetic and understanding of current trends and customer preferences.
- Leads and supports the team in daily tasks, including scheduling, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring timely completion of department duties.
- Maintains inventory levels by tracking product movement, managing back stock, and communicating ordering needs to appropriate personnel.
- Utilizes historical sales trends and promotional calendars to anticipate product demand and plan inventory needs. Monitors sales, shrink, and labor data, and communicates observations or concerns to store leadership as needed.
- Monitors product quality and freshness by properly caring for and rotating flowers and plants; ensures displays remain appealing and shoppable.
- Builds seasonal and promotional displays to drive customer interest and boost department sales.
- Analyzes sales trends, shrink, and labor data to support department goals and profitability.
- Provides knowledgeable and friendly customer service, offering recommendations and fulfilling custom or event orders.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for the floral department, working collaboratively with store leadership to support store-wide initiatives.
- Promotes a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Intermediate knowledge of floral department operations.
- Intermediate knowledge of flowers, handling, and design techniques required.
- Basic knowledge of budget planning, profit and loss statements, labor reports, and other financial statements.
- Basic knowledge of automated reporting systems including, but not limited to, inventory, cost of goods, scheduling, time and attendance, and labor.
- Basic mathematical skills for assessing inventory and ordering.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and delegate responsibilities.
- Ability to effectively communicate (in written and verbal form) with partners and customers. Ability to remain professional and courteous with customers at all time.
- Ability to use precision hand tools.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and practice proper time management.
- Ability to conduct on-the-job training, instruct in use of tools or equipment, and demonstrate procedures.
- Ability to perform basic Microsoft Office functions.
- Ability to promote sales and negotiate prices.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor. Education, Experience and Qualifications :
- High school Diploma or GED required.
- One or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and / or higher education required.
- Minimum of 18 years of age required.
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy.
- State certification and licensure required in Louisiana. Physical Demands :

- Frequently required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs.
