Telemetry RN Job Details

Location : Wilmington, NC (28401) – North Carolina nursing jobs

Unit : Cardiac Medical Telemetry Unit

Contract Length : 13 to 26 weeks – travel nurse contract

Shift : 12-hour nights (18 : 45 - 07 : 15)

Hours per Week : 36 hours

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1700-$1750

Start Date : December 29, 2025

End Date : March 30, 2026

Weekend Requirement : 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (every other weekend)

Floating : Required as needed, potential to float every shift

Orientation : 24 hours

Scrubs : Navy

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry and PCU / DOU / IMC / Stepdown nursing experience

Active RN license in North Carolina or Compact State (required at time of start)

ACLS certification (required)

BLS certification (required)

Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Experience with Epic charting system preferred

NIHSS certification preferred

Charge nurse experience preferred

Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and perform remote cardiac monitoring

Pre / Post Cardiac Cath and Cardiac Surgery experience required

Sheath removal, central line / PICC line management, cardiac drip titration (Diltiazem, Amiodarone), blood product administration

Comfortable floating to other hospital units as needed

Telemetry RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult cardiac telemetry patients

Monitor and manage patients with congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac procedures

Administer and titrate cardiac drips (Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, etc.)

Perform sheath pulls and manage TR Bands and Femstop devices

Access ports, administer blood products, and manage central / PICC lines

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and more

Document patient care using EPIC and follow SBAR communication protocols

Participate in self-scheduling and meet unit staffing needs

Serve as part of the Storm Team / Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters

Maintain a teamwork approach and uphold professional behavioral standards
