Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm providing engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning / testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV. ECI has an opening for a Project Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations.
- Material procurement, construction and commissioning / startup support through energization.
- Develop and deliver physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications.
- Assist the Project Manager in planning and execution of projects, including client and stakeholder coordination, training and mentoring of design staff, project quality assurance, and oversight of design engineers, designers, drafters and support staff.
- Coordinate completion of specialized tasks with ECI subject matter expert discipline groups (e.g., Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection, Civil Engineering, Communication, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands / Right-of-Way, Project Management / Controls).
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.6+ years of project and design engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment; commitment to quality and accuracy; and willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules.Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.Advanced knowledge of power engineering principles; expert regarding applicable codes, standards and design tools; basic project management execution skills; ability to oversee and direct design personnel on a project team.Experience in the utility or merchant power industry is a plus.Subject to client-mandated drug and background checks; occasional travel may be required.Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.Salary and Benefits
