As a Field Service Technician , you’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks at customer job sites with efficiency and professionalism. You will :
Perform unsupervised repairs and diagnostics in accordance with dealership and factory standardsComplete major component repairs and overhauls, including engine, driveline, electrical, and A / C systemsDiagnose malfunctions based on inspections and customer concernsCommunicate with service and parts departments to coordinate workflow and secure needed partsSave, tag, and track warranty parts; open OEM and vendor diagnostic cases as requiredDocument all repairs and recommendations on work orders with accuracyRoad test vehicles and perform inspections for safety or additional service needsInstall optional equipment, report defects, and keep customers informed of repair statusMaintain greater than 80% productivity and 95% efficiencyKeep service truck clean, neat, and safe; wash weeklyAssist fellow technicians and participate in ongoing manufacturer training programsAdhere to federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA and hazardous waste handlingMaintain dealership-owned tools and work area cleanlinessPromote health and safety policies in all work environmentsWhat We’re Looking For
Vocational / technical school graduate with 5+ years related experience, or equivalent trainingStrong background in engine and driveline troubleshooting, electrical systems, and A / C repairAbility to overhaul major components and perform advanced diagnosticsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsGood supply of personal hand tools requiredRequired Certifications & Licenses :
Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) CertificationsDrive Train Certification for Medium / Heavy TruckHVAC Certification for Medium / Heavy TruckState Vehicle Inspector Certification (Class 7)MX Engine CertificationCummins MD and HD CertificationCommercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or higher (must meet company insurability standards)Valid Driver’s License (must meet company insurability standards)Physical Requirements
Regular standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crawlingFrequent lifting of 50+ lbs; ability to lift / move more than 100 lbs occasionallyVisual abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustmentWork Environment
