Security Officer

Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential / actual security threats.

Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.

Maintain knowledge / follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency / disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.

Train and mentor staff on environment of care and emergency management processes and procedures. Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.

Provide for traffic and parking enforcement within campus area and participates in foot and vehicle patrols.

Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.

Operate vehicle in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

Licensure / Certification / Registration :

Drivers License credentialed from the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles obtained within 3 months of hire date or job transfer date required.

Wisconsin Concealed Weapons License (CCW) to be obtained within 90 days (3 months) of hire date or job transfer date required.

One or more of the following are preferred :

BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Law Enforcement.

Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc.

Security Professional.

Education :

High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Note : Required professional licensure / certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Prior applicable Security experience, Law Enforcement experience, Military experience, or degree preferred.

A two week Security training academy (Monday to Friday) must be successfully completed during the probationary period after hire. The training academy will be in Milwaukee or Racine. All Officers required to carry Taser, baton, pepper spray, and handcuffs.

This position requires managing the ID badge system and access control using WinPak. Extensive knowledge with processing ID badges, managing requests (AO Docs) and managing and maintaining the access control system.
