The Maintenance Technician performs hands-on maintenance, repairs, and installations of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure smooth manufacturing operations. This role also involves maintaining the facility, utility systems, and grounds while working under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. The position supports a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement in alignment with company goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on equipment, tools, and facility systems to ensure production continuity.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Conduct minor repairs or adjustments to machinery and facility components as needed.Preventative MaintenanceFollow the preventative maintenance schedule for inspections, lubrication, and minor repairs.
Maintain detailed maintenance logs and communicate findings to the Maintenance Manager.Facilities and Utility MaintenanceAssist in maintaining building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical utilities.
Perform minor repairs on facility infrastructure, such as lighting, doors, or flooring.Team CollaborationWork closely with the Maintenance Manager and other team members to prioritize tasks.
Assist in coordinating with external contractors for large-scale repairs or installations.Safety and ComplianceAdhere to all safety protocols and report potential hazards.
Ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards for machine operation and facility maintenance.Inventory and ToolsManage tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
Assist with inventory checks and procurement of necessary parts and supplies.Requirements : Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or similar role.Proficient in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and maintenance manuals.Basic understanding of resource planning systems and inventory management.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training programs.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Michigan driver’s license.Lift truck operator certification (or willingness to obtain certification).Physical Demands
Regularly required to walk throughout the plant facility and communicate with team members.Frequently required to climb, balance, crouch, and crawl while inspecting or repairing equipment.Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds regularly and occasionally lift / move items over 50 pounds.Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.Work Environment
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, and varying temperatures.Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, high places, fumes, and vibrations.Noise levels may range from moderate to loud, depending on the work area.Benefits
