This role is pivotal in enhancing our fabrication operations through a diverse array of tasks such as material inspection, product mapping, anneal setup / operation, rough cutting with a tile saw, belt sanding, and meticulous record keeping. You will play a crucial role in ensuring top-notch quality, precision, and efficiency at every stage of production while adhering to both company and customer specifications, alongside material requirements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal oversight, proactively address any issues that may arise, and consistently maintain exemplary quality standards. Additional duties may include mentoring fellow team members and undertaking other responsibilities to meet the evolving needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Cut raw material to size for compatibility with polishing processes.
- Trim finished blanks for submission to final part orders.
- Apply break edges to improve handling safety and reduce chipping risk.
- Maintain high accuracy to ensure optimal material yield.
- Inspect parts to ensure compliance with prints and customer specifications using both visual and dimensional checks.
- Perform visual inspections and material layouts to determine usability and reduce waste.
- Manage and track Material Utilization Department (MUD) scrap to support efficiency and cost control.
- Identify and report improper operations, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervision for timely resolution.
- Load and unload sapphire parts with care to prevent damage and maintain quality standards.
- Select and run anneal programs based on material type and established procedures.
- Set up anneal furnaces with proper fixturing based on parts to be run.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED RequiredA minimum of three years in the manufacturing sector.Ability to use shop math (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals); ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal rule basic and advanced measuring equipmentAbility to understand manufacturing processes and to read blueprints, specifications, Safety Data Sheets, and Work InstructionsBasic PC skills including the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), or specific programs required by individual departments.Experience with calipers and micrometers.Hours : M-F 2 : 00pm-10 : 30pmBenefits
