Job Overview
Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking an additional Breast Surgical Oncologist to join our multidisciplinary Breast Oncology Program, which currently includes four other fellowship-trained breast surgeons. A start date by August (or September) of 2025 is anticipated. The successful candidate will be board-certified or board-eligible and demonstrate a record of clinical excellence and scholarly accomplishments to warrant an academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level with the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Candidates currently in fellowship are encouraged to apply. They will be supported in developing a rewarding clinical practice in the management of malignant and benign breast disease. There is no general surgery call required. Breast oncology call is shared with 4 other breast surgeons. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered multidisciplinary oncology care including participation in quality management, scholarship, and clinical research programs. The program is supported by a dedicated breast imaging center and is accredited by NAPBC and the Commission on Cancer. In September 2018, BMDACC moved into an iconic 9-story, 330,000 sq. ft. outpatient facility to provide state-of-the-art treatment and subspecialty care, clinical research, and education in all areas of cancer medicine, radiation oncology, and surgical oncology / surgical subspecialties. To meet the needs of patients and families, the program has grown to include over 50 physicians (including 22 surgeons) and 700 team members to provide prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and wellness / survivorship services in one location. In-patient care is provided on the same campus at the Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, a 500-bed tertiary hospital. BMDACC has quickly grown to become one of the larger cancer programs in Florida - ranking 4th for new cancer patients (Florida Trend January 2024) - meeting the needs of this community and beyond.
