Job description

Therapist Or Counselor– Residential Youth Program

Location : Buckhorn, KY

Salary : $50,000–$52,000 DOE

Housing : Provided

iDEAL HIRE is seeking a dedicated Therapist to join a residential program serving developmentally and intellectually delayed boys, ages 12–21. The ideal candidate will provide trauma-informed, client-centered therapeutic services in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy tailored to the needs of youth.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, educators, and medical staff to support holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records in compliance with agency standards.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training to stay current with best practices in the field.

Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related human services field.
  • Valid Kentucky license or certification to provide therapy (e.g., LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, LPP, LPCA, CSW with supervision, LPA-Psych. Assoc.).
  • Experience working with youth in residential or therapeutic settings preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
