Import Coordinator

Chicago-based W&L International Express handles all aspects of inbound/outbound international freight forwarding and U.S. customs brokerage services via air, ocean and land, and expedites freight throughout the world.

As a licensed NVOCC, W&L provides complete coordination and preparation of all documentation, and can handle FCL(Full Container Loads) and LCL(Less Than Container Load), break bulk cargo, project cargo and trade shows ocean shipments including, but not limited to ocean freight import/export, cargo insurance, and customs bonds, inland drayage and trucking, warehousing and distribution, customs clearance/SED filing.

Job Description:

• Manage FCL (Full Container Loads) and LCL(Less Than Container Load),and consol import shipments by coordinating with overseas offices.
  
• Work with and assist sales people establishing and handling shipments, provide customer service.
  
• Prepare documentation, coordinate with carrier, customs broker and customers.
  
• Trace shipments, provide update shipping information to customers.
  
• Arrange release of cargo in a timely manner.
  
• Dispatch shipments, coordinate with trucking carriers for timely delivery.
  
• Prepare and send invoice.
  
• Coordinate with agents regarding statements, rates and settlements.
  
• Assist in building up and maintaining customer accounts.

Qualification Requirements:

• 2-5 years industry experience.
  
• Break bulk, import direct consol cargo experience.
  
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  
• Ability to follow complex instructions.
  
• Ability to multi task and prioritize.
  
• Good math skills.
  
• Attention to details.
  
• Ability to work under pressure in a very time sensitive environment.
  
• Quick learner who likes to be challenged and has a can do attitude.
  
• Excellent customer service skills.
  
• Team player.
  
• High school diploma or GED required. College graduates is a plus.
