Position Summary
The Clinical Research Coverage / Budget Analyst position will be responsible for reading a clinical trial protocol to conduct a coverage analysis and build a budget for negotiation. The role will address billing compliance and budget-related questions / issues.
Essential Functions
- Triage incoming protocols for coverage analysis and budget build
- Perform detailed coverage analysis for clinical trials based on Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Policy, National Coverage Determinations (NCDs), Local Coverage Determination (LCDs), Drug Compendia, etc.
- Develop, review, and negotiate clinical trial budgets
- Responds to coverage analysis, billing compliance, and budget-related questions
- Act as subject matter expert to select the best method to address billing compliance issues and negotiate budgets
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years’ experience requiredExperience in coverage analysis and budgeting, preferably 2+ years in clinical trials oncologyKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Advanced skills in ExcelKnowledge in CPT coding is a plusUnderstands billing / regulatory compliance guidelines.Ability to influence various teams without direct reporting structureExtremely flexible, highly organized, and able to balance and quickly shift prioritiesProject and process management skills demonstrated a track record of accomplishing tasks and delivering resultsDetail oriented with organizational skills to cross-check multiple sources of informationExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong customer-service orientation, and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and with a wide range of clients, individually and in groupsActively listen and comprehend using critical thinkingStrong employee-relations skills; must be approachable and able to earn trust and credibility with client groupsAble to deal effectively with conflict and manage difficult employee relations situationsAmbitious and driven with a keen interest in improving processes and development -both as a team and personallyProven ability to handle extremely confidential informationWorking Environment / Physical Environment
This position works on site 5 days a weekThis position works at a computer for extended periods of timeThis position requires flexible hours, with occasional evening and weekend hoursThis position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity award. The annual base pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location.
65,000 (entry-level qualifications) to $88,000 (highly experienced) annually
