About The Position

Job Title : RN - PCU

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night Shift

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum of 2 years PCU experience, including heavy Neuro.

License : Active RN License

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

• Experience with lumbar drains, stroke management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Skills in tracheostomy care, peripheral IV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain / tube management
• Experience managing PCA pumps and medication drips including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF, and Nicardipine

Description :

Seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit.

The ideal candidate will have strong PCU experience, particularly in neuro cases.

Patient types include post-operative neurosurgery patients requiring frequent monitoring.

Common diagnoses will include craniotomy for brain tumors, VP shunt placements, deep brain stimulators, subdural hematomas, CSF leaks, and post-operative spine surgeries.

Higher acuity patients requiring advanced monitoring are not assigned to travelers.

Patient ratios will be approximately 1 nurse to 3 patients.

Support resources will include a charge nurse, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists available 24 / 7.

Floating to other facilities may be required based on regional needs.

Weekend rotations will occur every other weekend.

Travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays.

Time for traveling between facilities will be compensated.

Scrub color is navy.
