Tax Director - National Tax Federal

The organization is a national professional services firm providing advisory, assurance, and tax services. The Tax Director will join the National Tax team and work with internal teams to support clients across industries with sophisticated tax planning, compliance, and controversy work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource to the firm’s tax team, leveraging deep subject matter expertise on a broad range of tax topics with a focus in partnership tax law
• Research complex tax issues using the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, and other authorities
• Draft tax technical memorandums
• Collaborate with teams to prepare complex Section 704(b) capital account maintenance and allocations and apply Section 704(c) in determining tax allocations
• Review transaction and partnership / LLC agreements from a tax perspective
• Coordinate with client legal counsel in structuring transactions with passthrough entities
• Develop and present tax technical trainings at the National and Local levels
• Produce internal alerts to notify the tax team of changes in tax law and reporting requirements
• Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements by understanding client needs
• Contribute to proposal development and respond to requests for proposal as directed
• Provide regular performance feedback and conduct timely evaluations to develop future leaders
• Develop subordinates’ technical and industry skills and encourage growth
• Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity, and independent thinking
• Support tax quality efforts, including just-in-time and retrospective reviews
• Develop book of business and clients to drive profitable growth
