Assistant Carpenter Superintendent
Industrial Constructors / Managers, Inc., serves the manufacturing and process industries with safely executed industrial and commercial construction projects. Industries include mining and material processing, aerospace, power generation, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and transportation. ICM is seeking an Assistant Carpenter Superintendent to support our field operations team on active projects.
The Assistant Carpenter Superintendent assists the Carpenter Superintendent with the planning, coordination, and supervision of daily field activities. This position supports all aspects of the carpentry and structural scope including formwork, rebar, layout, material management, and work sequencing. The Assistant Carpenter Superintendent ensures tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with specifications and project requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to :
- Assist in planning and coordinating daily and weekly field activities for carpenter and labor crews.
- Support manpower tracking and communicate crew needs with supervision.
- Participate in project activity sequencing to ensure work aligns with schedule and trade coordination.
- Assist with material takeoffs and verify quantities of formwork, rebar, embeds, and hardware.
- Review and help interpret rebar shop drawings and coordinate field installation with crews.
- Support preparation and organization of form packaging, including materials, drawings, and required hardware.
- Coordinate with survey, layout, and concrete teams to ensure correct elevations and locations.
- Track and coordinate third-party testing (concrete, soil, rebar, etc.) as required by project specifications.
- Maintain accurate and timely daily reports, including manpower, production quantities, and inspections.
- Verify materials and equipment deliveries align with project needs and quality standards.
- Monitor workmanship and assist with quality assurance inspections.
- Support and participate in weekly planning and coordination meetings with project supervision and subcontractors.
- Ensure ICM's quality and safety requirements are upheld at all times.
Safety Responsibilities :
Support and enforce ICM's Safety Program, Policies, and Procedures.Participate in daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and develop plans to address potential hazards.Ensure PPE requirements are met, and safe work practices are followed.Assist with completing safety permits and maintaining documentation.Participate in weekly safety meetings and toolbox talks.Report incidents, hazards, or unsafe conditions immediately to project supervision or safety personnel.Qualifications :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, follow direction, and work collaboratively with field crews and project leadership.
Preferred Experience :
3+ years of experience in industrial or commercial construction.Background in carpentry, formwork, or concrete construction is strongly preferred.Experience with blueprint reading, layout, and rebar shop drawing interpretation.Familiarity with project documentation, including takeoffs, testing reports, and activity tracking.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore or similar project management tools preferred.Physical Demands and Work Environment :
Ability to stand, walk, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.Work may involve climbing, kneeling, bending, and working at elevated heights.The statements contained in this job description reflect general details as necessary to describe the principal functions of this position and the level of knowledge and responsibility required.
