Project Controls Specialist
We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to be a key player in the administration of strategic construction project agreements. This role involves ensuring that major contractors adhere to contractual terms and coordinating procurement activities as needed. The ideal candidate will work closely with project teams to manage contracts and ensure compliance with all contract provisions.
Responsibilities :
- Administer new and existing strategic construction project agreements.
- Work with project teams to ensure major contractors adhere to contractual terms and conditions.
- Review change order requests, invoices, and document exchanges, and coordinate approvals.
- Coordinate procurement activities as needed and funnel issues to legal resources.
- Support contract activities including development, negotiation, amendment, and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to negotiate terms and conditions of contracts.
- Manage project documentation using Oracle's Unifier system.
- Provide end-user support and training for Unifier users.
- Assist Project Managers and engineers with contractor and vendor compliance.
- Coordinate document transfers with land developers and real estate groups.
- Maintain and report status of closing and post-closing documents.
- Attend weekly project status meetings and travel to job sites as required.
- Create and generate custom reports within Unifier to track open items.
- Interface with Records Management for archive and document retention.
- Support several large strategic projects, including the Wind Expansion Program and IPL Solar program.
- Lead efforts to review and negotiate Project Controls commercial terms.
- Develop and manage cost cap for regulatory filings.
Essential Skills :
Experience with Primavera.Experience with contract administration and RFP processes.Familiarity with construction industry practices.4-year college degree required.2-5 years of relevant experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications :
Experience working on renewable energy projects is a plus.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams.Strong communication and negotiation skills.Work Environment :
The position is located on-site at a generation plant in either Wisconsin or Iowa. You will be part of all construction activities and handle a high volume of vendor interactions. Work hours are standard, 8-4 or 9-5, with a 40-hour work week. IT and hardware will be provided. The role offers PTO and holidays, and most of the Project Controls team consists of long-term contractors. The work environment is supportive, allowing team members to manage tasks independently.
Pay and Benefits :
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
