Job description

At NWRRC, we are passionate about helping our residents successfully reintegrate into society. Since 1964, we have provided high-quality reintegration services to individuals transitioning from incarceration, probation clients, and those under community restoration orders. As a non-profit organization, we operate a 150+ bed residential re-entry center, committed to promoting accountability, safety, and positive change in our community.

Position Overview : As a Resident Re-Entry Specialist , you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and our residents as they transition back into society. This is a key position in ensuring that residents are held accountable while being treated with dignity and respect. Please note that some job duties are gender-specific (e.g., conducting same-gender pat-down searches and observed urinalysis) due to the co-ed nature of our facility. If you are seeking a rewarding career in criminal justice, corrections, social services, behavioral health, or security, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities :

  • Monitor resident behavior and activities to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a secure and orderly environment through regular facility patrols, headcounts, and searches of resident rooms, property, vehicles, phones, and personal searches (pat-downs).
  • Respond to emergencies swiftly and appropriately.
  • Conduct observed urine collection and breathalyzer testing for residents and other contract clients.
  • Control and dispense resident medications and manage self-carry medications and supplements.
  • Track resident accountability while they are on approved absences from the facility (e.g., work, social passes).
  • Monitor electronic monitoring (GPS) reports for residents in the community and on home confinement.
  • Control all entry and exit into the facility to ensure security.
  • Maintain accurate incident logs and documentation of all facility activities.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for law enforcement, U.S. Marshals, U.S. Probation Officers, Bureau of Prisons personnel, and other related agencies.

Compensation & Benefits :

  • Hourly Rate : Starting at $26.97 for RRSI and $28.58 for RRSII
  • Benefits for Full-Time Employees :
  • Healthcare : 100% of medical, vision, and dental premiums covered for employees; 50% for spouses and dependents. Includes life, AD&D, and long-term disability insurance.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) : up to 24 days of PTO and vacation annually (approx. 4.8 weeks).
  • Sick Time : up to 12 days of sick time annually (approx. 2.4 weeks).
  • Retirement : Employer-funded Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) plan with a 7% contribution of gross earnings, available after 1 year.
  • Tuition Assistance : Up to 50% of tuition costs for related degrees or certificates, available after 6 months.
  • Fitness Perks : up to $50 monthly for fitness
  • Free Meals : Enjoy free meals during meal service from NWRRC's excellent cafeteria.
  • Additional perks and benefits.
  • Qualifications : We're looking for candidates with a combination of relevant education and experience that demonstrates the ability to work effectively with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to creating positive relationships with residents are essential.

  • Experience or education in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • We value candidates with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to the needs of the program and residents.
  • Availability : NWRRC operates 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Candidates must be available to work any shift and any day of the week. Shifts are as follows : day shift 7am-3pm, swing shift 3pm-11pm, and graveyard 11pm-7am. We have split day / swing and swing / graveyard shifts as well. To support work-life balance, we do offer consistent schedules with consistent days off.
  • Why Work With Us? By joining NWRRC, you'll play a key role in supporting individuals who are making significant life changes. This is an opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of residents while working within a professional, supportive environment.

Apply Today! If you're ready to make a meaningful difference, we encourage you to apply and become part of our dedicated team.

NWRRC is an equal opportunity employer.
