About the Role : PMAT has an immediate need and is seeking a highly skilled and highly qualified IT Systems Engineer and Network Administrator to lead the deployment, configuration, and sustainment of secure, mission-critical infrastructure and communication systems for a new Navy C4I lab. This is a senior, hands-on rolenot suited for junior or entry-level candidateswhere you will work alongside a Government Lab Manager to build the lab from the ground up. The selected candidate will be relied upon for expert-level knowledge, sound engineering judgment, and independent execution in a highly visible, mission-critical environment.

You will design, implement, and manage a classified lab environment supporting Command and Control (C2), secure communications, and data exchange across tactical and enterprise networks. This role also involves integration with coalition partner systems to enhance joint interoperability and mission success.

Responsibilities :

• Design, deploy, and manage secure LAN / WAN networks, routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices per DoD standards.
• Configure Cisco ASA with Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) for perimeter security and intrusion prevention.
• Manage Cisco Catalyst Edge Routers and deploy Cisco SD-WAN for WAN integration and SATCOM communications.
• Provide Tier IIII support for end-user devices (thin / zero clients, laptops, collaboration systems) in a classified environment.
• Configure and maintain C2 application servers (DNS, chat, email) and unified communications platforms.
• Integrate, configure, and sustain coalition communication systems such as Link 16, Link 22, TTNT, MIDS-JTRS, and Mission Partner Environment (MPE) for joint and combined operations.
• Support interoperability with systems like CENTRIXS, CJSMPT, and NATO Improved Link 11 (NILE) as required for mission objectives.
• Implement and manage timing and synchronization devices to ensure network integrity.
• Deploy and monitor next-gen encryption devices (e.g., TACLANE).
• Manage physical data center infrastructureracks, PDUs, airflow, and remote KVM access.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement STIGs and maintain systems in continuous ATO compliance.
• Develop comprehensive technical documentation, network diagrams, and system support guides.
• Serve as a key point of contact with government stakeholders and coalition partners for lab buildout and operations.

Work Environment : Work will be performed onsite at PMAT or government facilities within classified spaces. You will operate in a hands-on engineering role with direct access to mission systems, working closely with government leadership.
