Position Summary
This position designs and maintains software applications, collaborates to meet user needs and business requirements, combines process ownership, data governance, and project leadership to deliver measurable business value in a highly regulated chemical manufacturing environment. It ensures applications are deployed effectively, securely, and in alignment with enterprise standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Supports implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of business applications across an organization
- Creates functional software applications by translating client requirements into application features
- Serves as key link between IT, business leadership, and manufacturing operations; drives standardization, compliance, and efficiency in IT-enabled processes
- Configures applications for governance, technical support, and process documentation; enables smooth adoption by end-users; trains and guides user on IT operational procedures
- Conducts testing to identify and fix bugs, ensuring the application runs smoothly and meets specifications
- Leads process governance; ensures cross-departmental alignment of IT applications
- Represents IT in steering committees and / or governance boards for enterprise applications
- Leads enterprise-wide business process standardization and harmonization initiatives
- Administers user access rights, security settings, and compliance controls for business applications
- Documents system changes, configurations, and dependencies; meets audit and governance requirements
- Ensures applications align with IT security standards, data governance, and regulatory compliance
- Oversees data quality programs; verifies accuracy, compliance, and security of data
- Implements advanced reporting and analytics tools; supports process visibility and decision-making
- Confirms IT-enabled processes meet compliance requirements (SOX, CFATS, OSHA, ISO, NIST)
- Leads audit readiness activities; documents processes, controls, and system compliance
- Liaises with regulators and / or auditors for IT-supported business processes
- Maintains IT process workflows, policies and procedures, and documentation for application lifecycle management
- Identifies and implements IT process improvements, automation opportunities, and efficiency gains
- Drives measurable cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk reduction through process improvements; proposes and manages IT process improvement budgets
- Develops and tracks KPIs for business process performance; reports performance to IT and business leadership; tracks IT project deliverables, timelines, and risks
- Assists with planning, testing, and deployment of business applications
- Configures and maintains system components; ensures IT infrastructure compatibility
- Coordinates with infrastructure, database, and security teams to meet technical requirements
- Supports integration activities and troubleshoot issues during and after rollout
- Provides Tier 1 / Tier 2 application support during implementation and post go-live phases
- Conducts User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination; tracks issues; ensures timely resolution
- Validates system data accuracy and functionality against business requirements
- Develops training materials, user guides, and technical documentation to support system adoption
- Supports system upgrades, patches, and migrations as needed
- Stays current with new technologies; recommends improvements; implements as appropriate
- Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EHSS principles and values; champions safety at all times; participates in and / or leads safety teams or projects as appropriate

Experience & KSA’s Required
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT Application Support, System Administration, and / or Process Improvement rolesExperience in chemical manufacturing, oil & gas, or other regulated industries strongly preferredExperience working with and in-depth knowledge of SQL and other IT languagesSolid understanding of IT systems, applications, and enterprise architectureKnowledge of IT governance, security standards, and compliance frameworksExhibits familiarity with business applications (ERP, SCM, CRM, or industry-specific platforms)Experience in application configuration, testing, and troubleshootingStrong documentation, process mapping, and technical writing skillsAbility to translate business needs into IT requirementsExcellent communication and collaboration skills across IT and business teamsProven problem-solving skills; ability to deliver measurable business resultsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsExperience supporting application implementation projects and coordinating with project management teams.Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignmentsGood computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use database systems and other programs and applications used by this position and at CompanyFluent in English language including reading, writing and speaking; ability to read and write at a minimum of high school level; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in organizationEducation Requirement

This position requires an employee to be in an office environment as well as exposed to outside elements. Most extreme elements are heat in the summer months of up to 100°ree;+ and some exposure to cold of generally no less than 0°ree; in the winter months. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous. The employee may enter confined spaces and work in elevated environments. Employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.
