About Unify

Unify was founded January 17th, 2023 by Austin Hughes and Connor Heggie. Prior to Unify, Austin led Ramp's growth product team focused on new customer acquisition, and Connor was a machine learning research engineer at Scale AI. The rest of our team comes from companies like Airbnb, Spotify, Bridgewater, and .

Our mission is to build the first system-of-action for go-to-market teams, starting with an end-to-end platform powering warm outbound. Today, outbound sales is dominated by cold, mass outreach that floods people's inboxes and converts to deals at a tiny rate. We're building a platform to power warm outbound, allowing go-to-market teams to get in touch with the right people at the exact time they're looking for a solution.

We've grown revenue 8x year-over-year, and are already serving customers like Guru, Justworks, Together.AI, Flock Safety, Hightouch, and more. We're a high-energy, high-intensity team and have raised $58M from Thrive, Emergence, OpenAI, and others. Come join us in changing how go-to-market works.

About the Role

As our second Engineering Manager at Unify GTM, you'll be stepping into a rare opportunity : shaping the DNA of an early-stage, high-velocity engineering org that's building with the leading edge of AI.

You'll lead one of our core product pods, owning delivery, quality, and team health and partner closely with product and design to bring bold ideas to life. You'll also help set the foundation for how we scale : our culture, our systems, and our standards of technical and operational excellence.

This is a high-impact, high-trust role at a moment of rapid growth, perfect for someone who wants to build, lead, and grow alongside an ambitious team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a core product team : Manage, coach, and grow a group of high-performing engineers while keeping your finger on the pulse of technical work.
  • Own delivery : Collaborate with product and design leads to scope and ship product initiatives that are customer-centered, fast, and reliable.
  • Level up our systems : Continuously improve engineering processes from planning to observability to CI / CD to support rapid iteration and scale.
  • Lead by example : Participate in code reviews, design conversations, and incident response to stay close to the craft.
  • Build the team : Recruit, hire, and onboard top engineering talent as we grow the org 3x+ in the next 12 months.
  • Shape culture : Foster a team environment grounded in ownership, speed, and empathy for each other and for our users.

Who You Are

  • You bring 6+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years of engineering management in fast-moving environments.
  • You've built and led teams at early-stage startups, shipping high-quality software under tight feedback loops.
  • You're a strong technical leader who knows how to set a high bar and inspire others to reach it.
  • You're at home in high-autonomy, high-accountability environments and energized by building from scratch.
  • You've worn multiple hats and love the chaos of early stage : recruiting, writing code, running retros, debugging prod, or tweaking the roadmap.
  • You care deeply about people and invest in helping others grow both technically and as teammates.
  • You move fast, stay scrappy, and always prioritize impact.
  • Our Stack

    We use a modern, high-performance stack :

TypeScript, Prisma, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Pulsar, ClickHouse, Temporal, and LLMs.

Familiarity is great, but what matters most is your ability to learn fast, lead with curiosity, and raise the bar.

    Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is $200,000-$275,000 (based on experience), with a target equity package and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) options. This position is onsite in either San Francisco, CA, or New York City, NY, offering the invaluable opportunity to work closely with a talented team in a dynamic, high-energy environment. Being in-person enables real-time collaboration, fosters creative problem-solving, and strengthens the connections that drive innovation and impact. You'll be at the center of our fast-paced operations, contributing to a culture that values engagement, growth, and teamwork.
