Job description

Chief of Staff (Ops + Marketing) – Early-Stage Startup

Role Overview

This is a hybrid role : part operations, part marketing. You’ll work closely with the CEO to ensure the business runs efficiently day-to-day, while also driving campaigns and growth initiatives. One day you might refine internal processes, manage recruiting activities, or handle vendor contracts. The next you might launch a LinkedIn campaign, draft a case study, or coordinate a webinar. This is a role for someone who enjoys shifting between strategic thinking and hands-on execution, and who thrives in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operations (50–70%) : Manage systems for finance, HR, recruiting, onboarding, and compliance. Build lightweight processes to make the business more efficient. Run day-to-day operations, track KPIs, manage vendors, and step in where needed to solve urgent problems.
  • Marketing (30–50%) : Execute marketing campaigns (social, email, events, content), manage social presence, draft sales collateral and case studies, and track performance. Support the CEO in building thought leadership content and ensure consistent brand messaging across channels.
  • Projects & Growth : Support fundraising and partnerships, conduct market and competitor research, and prepare materials for investors, advisors, and customers. Take ownership of cross-functional projects that don’t fall neatly into any one department.

What This Role Offers

  • A central role in both how the company operates and how it grows.
  • Direct exposure to operations, marketing, sales, and product development.
  • A chance to make an immediate impact and see your work shape the direction of the company.
  • Close collaboration with the CEO and leadership team.
  • Career growth potential into senior leadership roles (Head of Ops, VP Marketing, COO).
  • Requirements

  • 3–8+ years in operations, marketing, or startup roles where you wore many hats.
  • Hands-on with digital marketing tools (LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar).
  • Proven ability to design processes and systems that scale.
  • Strong communication skills — excellent writer, clear thinker, and effective presenter.
  • Highly resourceful, organized, and comfortable in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • A “roll up your sleeves” mentality : willing to shift between strategic projects and hands-on execution without hesitation.
  • Benefits

  • Health Care Plan (Medical & Dental)
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
