Position Summary

The LeadMaintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and improving the condition of Goodwill of Olympic and Rainer Region facilities operating in 15 counties throughout Washington. The Technician is skilled in several trade fields and in addition to performing maintenance projects, may work alongside and / or delegate responsibilities to a small team of technicians.

Salary : $ - $ per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works directly under the Maintenance Supervisor to assist in maintaining facilities.
  • Makes decisions on work priorities based on the schedule and direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and / or Maintenance Manager.
  • Schedules work using an automated work order system such as Bluefolder or similar software; organize resources and establish priorities for building or remodeling projects.
  • Takes an active role in accomplishing tasks and provides leadership to work teams by modeling initiative, customer service, efficiency, and technical ability.
  • Works to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers through communication and responsiveness.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, equipment, and fixtures to determine needs for maintenance or repair.
  • Perform construction, maintenance, and repair work on facilities including painting, plumbing, electrical, automatic entry systems, refrigeration equipment, and HVAC systems.
  • Repair or alter buildings, facilities, and other structures from plans, sketches, written or oral instructions.
  • Install, maintain and repair plumbing, electrical, and other systems and equipment in buildings and utility distribution systems.
  • Follows safe work practices.

Requirements

Qualifications / Basic Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED equivalent
  • At least three years of experience in similar or same field
  • Knowledge of current construction methods, materials, and equipment
  • Building construction and carpentry (flooring repair / installation, concrete repair, drywall repair, hanging doors, framing, etc.)
  • Knowledge of building codes, rules, and safety regulations preferred
  • Painting, electrical, plumbing, welding, mechanical knowledge experience is a plus
  • Demonstrate cultural competence; specifically, awareness, attitude, knowledge, willingness and skills to work effectively with a culturally and demographically diverse population
  • Exceptional analytical, judgment, decision-making and communications skills
  • Superior coaching, leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and consensus

  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws; this position oversees and assigns work to 2-6 technicians.

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as : addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and average.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel and PowerPoint.

    Other Skills and Abilities

    Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of Lead Maintenance Technician.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Washington State Driver's License required

    Physical Demands
