Postdoctoral Research Associate

Position OverviewThe University of Kansas Transportation Center (KUTC) and the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering at the University of Kansas invite applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of transportation engineering, under the supervision of Dr. Alexandra Kondyli and Dr. Steven Schrock. Highly qualified candidates with backgrounds in driver behavior modeling, driving simulation, connected and automated vehicles, spatial data analysis, or transportation safety are particularly encouraged to apply. The preferred start date is January 5, 2026. This is a 1-year appointment with the possibility of reappointment contingent on demonstrated research performance and funding availability.

Job Description 75% Research

• Conduct and oversee laboratory and / or computational research.
• Assist in mentoring and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students with their research.
• Analyze data associated with conducted research.
• Prepare research papers.
• Lead and assist in preparation of research proposals.

15% - Reporting and Dissemination of Research

10% - Teaching

Position RequirementsOn-site work required at University of Kansas Lawrence Campus; remote work may be possible as conditions require and will be decided between supervisor and hired candidate.
