- Controls Development Triage Engineer - Subject Matter Expert, Engine Control Product Release Center, PMBD Platform
- The Subject Matter Expert in Controls Development Triage plays a critical role within the Engine Control Product Release Center (PRC).
- This expert works with the Controls Center of Excellence (COE) Manger, Controls Developers, Calibration, Advanced and Production Requirements teams to ensure all requirements are delivered by the Controls COE team function with the highest quality to meet program functional objectives.
- This role provides technical leadership to the PRC controls developers in the proper implementation of the requirements, including controls assessments and prototype design.
- The expert leads training in all aspects of engine control development. The Subject matter expert is the key participate in issue investigations and resolution planning.
Responsibilities :
Read high level requirements related to the intended vehicle-level behaviorDesign the appropriate control algorithm that fulfills the functional objectivesImplementation of the control algorithm in Matlab-Simulink, C, etc.Provide best-guess calibration datasetPre-verification of the implementation, check of the requirements' compliance, through Model In The Loop (MIL) testing;Pre-verification of the generated code, through Software in the Loop (SIL) testing or specific tools able to monitor the consumption of software resources (e.g. VRAM, throughput)Generation of integrated proto code buildsVerification of official code builds, or proto code builds in the HIL lab or in the vehicle, using ETAS INCA tools;Analysis and response to the tracked issuesAttendance to the main technical meetings, data analysis and issues' resolutionProcess documentation developmentCalibration & Application community support.Fundamental Knowledge Pillars :
Knowledge of modern and classical control principlesKnowledge of major vehicle systemsDomain knowledge in one or more of the following : Engine Design, Engine Systems Control Design, Engine Calibration, On-Board Diagnostics, functional safetyEmbedded control development tools and processesSupport triage of issues, ensure correct COE and team members are assigned, assist in the root cause analysisPerform Controls Assessments on COE contentManage COE input to prototype software developmentProvide Technical review and approval of Propulsion CapabilitiesReview and approve artifacts created by other team members within the assigned COEManage special projects focused on quality of control artifactsRequirements :
Strong level of working experience in engine control and data analysisA minimum of 15+ years of experience in a related fieldUnderstanding of System Requirements Engineering and Controls DesignStrong interpersonal communication, team / leadership skills / experienceAdvanced degree with emphasis in mechanical engineering, Automotive engineering, Computer EngineeringDemonstrated working level experience in decomposing intended function into controls design documentsDeep experience in the creation of MATLAB, SIMULINK, and AUTOSAR ArchitectureCritical character traits to ensure success : Action Oriented, Dealing with Ambiguity, Customer Focus, Problem Solving.Education :
