Job Title : Operating Room (OR) Surgical First Assist – Travel Contract

Location : Leonardtown, Maryland 20650 (Maryland healthcare jobs)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1700 - $1830

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 24 / 2025 – End : 2 / 23 / 2026)

Shift : Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07 : 00 – 19 : 00), 36 hours / week

Call Requirement : 1-2 weekend shifts per contract

Setting : Acute Inpatient OR & Outpatient OR

Scrubs Provided

Unit Accepts First-Time Travelers (with required experience)

Qualifications – Surgical First Assist Jobs in Maryland

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical First Assist in an OR setting

Active Maryland or compact state RN / FA license (Maryland nursing jobs)

BLS certification required

ACLS and NBSTSA certification preferred

Ability to provide two supervisor references

Experience with all patient age groups : neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, geriatrics

Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)

Responsibilities – OR Surgical First Assist Travel Job

Assist surgeons during a wide range of surgical procedures : bariatrics, endo / laparoscopic, general, gynecologic, orthopedics (including total joints), plastics, robotics, urology, vascular, and more

Utilize advanced surgical skills : starting peripheral IVs, suturing all wound layers (including muscle and fascia), tying / ligating clamped vessels or tissues, wound dressing application (liquid or spray occlusive)

Operate and maintain specialized OR equipment : Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, case carts, crash carts, drills, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources / cords

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including radiology and rapid response

Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control and isolation precautions

Support patient care for a daily census of approximately 28 across 5 OR rooms
