Director of Security Americas
The Director reports to and works closely with the Senior Director, Risk for the Americas Region. The post holder will be responsible for providing effective security support and guidance while providing oversight to the Region. The Director will work closely with regional management to ensure security compliance with the respective regulators and across all Menzies Aviation business units within the Region. The Menzies Aviation Security Management System (SeMS) is fundamental to the ongoing improvement of security and the success of the company. The Director will be required to assure full implementation of SeMS at all levels of the business, drive standardisation of best security practice, foster continuous improvement, and optimise the security performance within the Region.

Main accountabilities include :
Implementation of the 'Security Management System' (SeMS) Region-WideImplementation of security procedures, standards, and best practicesAdvising on physical security issues pertaining to the operation of the companyEnsuring compliance with national and international regulationsLiaising with Federal Regulators, law enforcement agencies, and local Port Authorities on security mattersDeveloping working relationships with regulatory agencies such as (but not limited to) TSA and Transport CanadaMaintaining a working liaison with regional management to ensure they understand the SeMS requirements.Advising on all matters of training, recruitment, and vetting in aviation securityMonitoring and reporting KPIs measuring security performanceMaintaining a risk-based approach to security management :Providing an effective risk analysis, threat assessment, and response capability regionallyEnsuring the highest possible levels of security integrity are maintained through the application of risk management controls.Formulation and implementation of additional measures to be applied during periods of increased threat.Implementation of the SeMS audit programme to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Performing investigations as required and providing oversight and guidance on regional investigations.Responding to Letters of Investigation, as requiredMonitoring and reviewing security reports in preparation for presentation to senior leadershipEnsuring all security incidents are fully investigated at station level.Managing Country Threat Assessments :Managing Security Threat Assessments as required (e.g. new start-ups and high-risk areas)Managing Country evacuation plans and diarise for annual reviews.Providing timely reports to management, as requiredIn addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties as may be reasonably requested by the SVP Risk Americas from time to time.Performs other duties as assigned.All employees have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to :

Higher education diploma, degree or equivalent in security, or related studies (aviation security qualification is beneficial)Enforcement Agency, Aviation Security or equivalent background with practical experience and knowledge of working within a regulated operation.A minimum of 5 years' experience at management level within aviation ground handling and cargo operationsA minimum of 5 years' experience in investigationsWorking knowledge of, or experience in Emergency Response Planning, Contingency Planning and Business Continuity PlanningSelf-motivated, disciplined and with flexible attitude to change.Hands-on, practical approach to providing solutions in a challenging and dynamic business environment, with good organisational skills.Prepared to travel internationally, sometimes at short notice including temporary secondment on a support / coaching basis at other locations and overseas.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels and from different geographical and ethnic cultures.Fluency in written and spoken English with ability to work in an international environment.Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Packages e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookMust possess and maintain a valid passport.Will have to undergo CRC and CTC vetting and successfully pass an FBI 10-yr background check. Failure to receive necessary security clearance will result in termination of employment.Compliance :
