Candidates must have experience with a patient ratio of 6. Experience with the charting system Epic is required. Ideal candidates should possess strong skills in accessing and managing ports. Familiarity with acute tumor lysis syndrome is preferred. Candidates should be skilled in the administration of blood and blood products. Experience with administering coagulation factors is a plus. Knowledge of advanced directives and altered mental status is essential. Candidates must be prepared to handle anaphylaxis situations. Proficiency in administering antibiotics, antiemetics, antifungals, antivirals, and antitumor agents is required. Experience with various types of cancers including bladder, kidney, brain, breast, colorectal, leukemia, lymphoma, and melanoma is necessary. Candidates must be adept in care and management of ports. Skills in central line blood draws, chest tube care, and colostomy care are important. Candidates should be equipped to manage constipation and diarrhea issues. Knowledge of continuous infusion of chemotherapy is required. Familiarity with corticosteroids and dysphagia is important. Experience with managing edema, extravasation injuries, and hormonal therapy is essential. Candidates must be able to provide hospice care and manage infusion pumps. Experience with intravenous hydration and isolation precautions is required. Candidates should be skilled in IV push narcotic agents and phlebotomy. Knowledge in managing PICC lines and post-surgical care is essential. Familiarity with patient and family education and support is preferred. Candidates must be capable of recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values. Understanding of sepsis and spinal cord compression is necessary. Candidates should have the ability to start and maintain IVs. Experience with telemetry interpretation and monitoring is important. Candidates should be familiar with tracheostomy care and management. Knowledge of wound care is preferred. The unit provides interdisciplinary support, including teams for IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more. The daily census may reach 25 patients. Additional patient diagnoses include sepsis, cellulitis, comfort care, COPD exacerbation, UTI, pneumonia, COVID, influenza, neutropenia, and weakness, among others. Candidates should be ready to manage special procedures like central line maintenance and port access.
