Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Steel Worker to join our team and assist in cutting, modifying, and assembling steel components for truck chassis and bodies. This role is hands-on and requires experience with metal cutting tools, fabrication techniques, and a strong understanding of structural integrity. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, mechanically inclined, and capable of interpreting technical drawings to complete precision modifications on various truck assemblies.

Responsibilities

Cut, shape, and modify steel truck assemblies to meet custom specifications and production standards.

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as torches, plasma cutters, saws, grinders, and welding machines.
• Measure and mark materials for cutting or alteration using hand tools and layout instruments.
• Ensure accuracy and structural integrity of modifications and repairs.
• Assist in assembling, fitting, and securing steel parts in place using various means (bolts, clamps, etc.).
• Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards.
• Communicate with supervisors and engineers regarding job progress, issues, or design changes.
