About the Role :

The Human Resources Generalist will play a pivotal role in managing and executing comprehensive HR functions within the transportation and warehousing industry. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll administration across multiple states, supporting employee relations, and facilitating talent management initiatives. The role requires a strategic approach to align HR practices with organizational goals while maintaining adherence to federal and state labor laws. The HR Generalist will serve as a key resource for employees and management, providing guidance on policies, benefits, and workforce planning. Ultimately, this position aims to foster a productive, compliant, and engaged workforce that supports the company’s operational success.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources with direct involvement in payroll administration.
  • Proven experience managing multi-state payroll and understanding of relevant labor laws.
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS systems and payroll software.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
  • Experience working within the transportation and warehousing industry, a plus.
  • Familiarity with benefits administration and workers’ compensation processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead HR projects and initiatives.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Administer multi-state payroll processes ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, and maintain personnel records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees and management on HR policies, benefits, and conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts including job postings, screening candidates, and facilitating interviews to attract qualified talent.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR programs related to performance management, employee engagement, and compliance.

  • Skills :

    The required skills in payroll administration and multi-state payroll are essential for ensuring that employee compensation is processed accurately and in compliance with diverse state regulations, which is critical in the transportation and warehousing sector.
