OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide therapeutic services that help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for pediatric clients grades k-12.
- Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic activities and exercises designed to improve fine motor and other functional skills.
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the therapy team regarding any changes or concerns.
- Maintain a safe and organized treatment environment, ensuring all equipment is clean and functional.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy and adhere to medical terminology standards.
- Qualifications
- Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of occupational health principles and practices.
- Experience or familiarity with pediatric and school based services is preferred.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing care plans based on patient evaluations.
- Strong background in patient care, with an emphasis on anatomy knowledge relevant to therapy practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
