Overview
The Endocrinologist will be responsible for providing Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism care at specific locations within the VA Boston Healthcare System and its enclaves as assigned. The 2-page Resume requirement does not apply to this occupational series. For more information, refer to Required Documents below. The incumbent will be based primarily in Worcester, MA and will work closely with the Endocrinology Chief and all clinical providers within the Endocrinology section.
Responsibilities
- Provide Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism care at assigned locations within the VA Boston Healthcare System and its enclaves.
- Collaborate with the Endocrinology Chief and all clinical providers in the Endocrinology section; act as the point of contact for physicians and clinical staff in the clinics served.
- Work with staff and physicians to optimize clinical care, provide education and training, improve quality and outcomes, and support mid-level providers.
- Participate in administrative duties and work on projects, committees, and teams to meet the needs of Endocrinology and the facility.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient consultative services in Endocrinology, perform Endocrinology procedures, triage consults, and respond to secure messages and phone calls.
- Serve as attending of record for patients in the medical intensive care unit and perform critical care procedures.
- Supervise trainees in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
