Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position requiring valid NM or compact license and TNCC certification.
Responsibilities
Work in a Level I Trauma, Teaching Hospital Emergency DepartmentPatient population includes high-acuity trauma cases with 60-80% admission rate and frequent ED holdingAssigned to adult ED with required floating to Adult PCUs and optional floating to Peds ED, ED Holding, or Trauma as neededNurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 5Night shifts available, option for 36 or 48 hour contractsWeekend shifts scheduled as needed, including nights on Friday to SundayCerner EMR is used; prior Cerner experience preferredResponsibilities include medication administration, documentation, and emergency response in a high-admission EDIncreased number of admit holds currently seen in departmentFirst-time travelers accepted if meeting Level I Trauma experience criteriaPreference given to candidates with travel and Level I Trauma experienceBlack scrubs required; not provided by the facilityNo locals accepted within a 75-mile radiusPersonal transportation requiredHoliday time off limited to one holiday bundle per contract, with additional requests subject to approvalRTO exceeding seven days requires approval; no RTO allowed during first or last contract week or major holidaysOrientation modules and compliance requirements must be completed prior to startRequirements
Active NM or compact RN license, may pend at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required, Level I Trauma and travel experience strongly preferred; candidates with 1.5 years may be reviewedCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC before consideration), NIH Stroke Scale (can be in process before start)Must not reside within 75 miles of the facilityCOVID-19 vaccination required unless a medical or religious exemption form is signed by a providerDriver’s license required for compliance; written transportation plan needed if no DLMust complete required drug screen and compliance documents before startBenefits
