What you bring to the table
- Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
- Lead with hospitality in mind : set the tone for a positive, guest-focused kitchen where every plate delights.
- Supervise, inspire, and coach kitchen staff during your shift, helping teammates grow and shine while keeping the service seamless.
- Train new team members through hands-on guidance, sharing recipes, techniques, and our service standards with enthusiasm.
- Step in to resolve challenges on the line or with team dynamics, fostering a collaborative and respectful environment.
- Keep the kitchen running smoothly-maintaining prep, inventory, and production standards while ensuring food quality and presentation shine.
- Assign tasks strategically each shift, checking that every dish meets our high standards for taste, quality, and presentation.
- Work closely with Supervisors and front-of-house staff to create a seamless dining experience and strong team connections.
- Monitor and support team breaks and meal periods to keep the crew energized and ready for service.
- Be versatile and hands-on : jump in as a line cook, dishwasher, kitchen technician, or Timbers Cook when needed.
- Keep communication open and positive with staff and supervisors, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
- Hold team members accountable with fairness and encouragement, reinforcing standards while keeping morale high.
- Assist Chefs with special projects or tasks, sharing your expertise and creativity to elevate the kitchen.
- Foster a culture of hospitality and pride in every plate from prep to service and training staff to deliver excellence for our guests and the team.
- Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned).

You'll need to be available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings when we are busy. In this role, you'll I be required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally sit. It's important to stay calm and make good decisions under pressure, especially when dealing with stressful situations or upset people. Just a heads-up-the casino environment may expose you to secondhand smoke.

Friendly and approachable attitude that helps guests (and the team) feel welcome and cared for every day.Minimum three (3) years exposure to commercial kitchen environment preferably in the casino or hotel industry.Must be a minimum of 18 years in age with a GED or HS Diploma; must have the ability to obtain an Oregon Food Handlers card and a working knowledge of the regulations.Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision.Demonstrated aptitude for cooking.The ability to provide and follow written and verbal instructionsComfortable communicating clearly and positively with both guests and teammates.Ko-Kwel Casino Resort is owned by the Coquille Indian Tribe.
