Job Description
Candidates for the role must have thorough knowledge of rough, finish carpentry, and tools and trades associated with residential construction. They should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Your primary responsibility is to fabricate, assemble, and install wooden structures and fixtures, which include framing, rough and finish work, and specialized carpentry tasks. This role involves accurately measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting wood and other materials according to blueprints or plans. You also ensure the structural integrity and quality of your work, often collaborating with other tradespeople.
Job Scope
Perform carpentry tasks with the highest quality of craftsmanship in the time allotted. Responsible for job site safety, cleanliness, security, and protection from the elements. Check the job site daily and communicate any discrepancies to the Foreman. Inform the Foreman of specialty items needed. Hold themselves and all carpenters under their direction accountable for their work performance, actions, and appearance. Responsible for producing projects per the plans and specifications. Participate and prepare for weekly on-site meetings with the entire team. Perform work under safety best practices. Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition. Cut, shape, and alter materials as needed. Measure and mark materials for alterations. Measures, marks, and arranges materials to establish layout based on blueprints or instructions from supervisors. Uses various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects. Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive. Ensures the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
