What we're looking for in a Direct Support Professional
To thrive as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Hills & Dales Child Development Center, you will need a blend of essential skills and qualifications. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a valid driver's license, as you will use your personal vehicle to transport clients on community outings. An ability to qualify as an approved driver is essential, ensuring that you meet the minimum insurance requirements, including $25,000 bodily injury liability, as outlined on your declaration page.
Furthermore, strong communication and interpersonal skills will help you build genuine connections with clients. A resourceful mindset will enable you to adapt to various situations, while empathy and patience are vital for providing compassionate caregiving.
