POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the cleaning and general maintenance of the building. This position is non-exempt from the minimum wage and time card provisions of the Fair Labor Standards act as amended.

REPORTS TO

Office Manager. This position is also guided by the position description, Agency and program policies and procedures, applicable State and Federal laws.

CLASSIFICATION

Category B (20 to 39 Hrs / week)

COMPENSATION

$14.00 / hr-$15.00 / hr

I. CORE FUNCTIONS

Housekeeping Duties :

  • Assess areas at the start of each shift to identify and address hazards affecting the workplace.
  • Bathrooms : On a daily basis, clean / sanitize toilets and basins, sweep / mop bathroom floors, refill toilet tissue, paper towels, toilet seat covers and hand soap; empty / replace trash bags.
  • Trash : On a daily basis, empty trash in and outside of the building.
  • Corridors / Hallways / Stairs : On a daily basis, sweep / blow hallways / corridors and stairs.
  • Vacuum : Once-a-week, all departments.
  • Quarterly or as necessary : Wipe walls, power wash, paint touch ups, lubricate areas, inspect, and or repair / submit work order requests for furniture / fixtures / HVAC maintenance / repair / deepcleaning.
  • Minor repairs : Identifying, documenting and fixing minor building issues or other health & safety issues, changing lightbulbs, identifying and patching leaks.

GroundsKeeping Duties :

  • Keep parking lot and driveway area free of debris and empty the trash.
  • Other Related Duties :

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies; inform supervisor when supplies are low.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures that client confidentiality is protected in accordance with Agency policy.
  • II. NON ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists in compliance with Agency’s health & safety plans and policies.
  • III. QUALIFICATIONS

    Knowledge / Abilities :

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
  • Personal warmth and the ability to communicate with consumers.
  • Ability to identify hazardous conditions and ameliorate those conditions.
  • Experience :

  • Work experience should show progressively increasing levels of responsibility
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Position requires lifting (at least 50 lbs.) standing, bending, walking and / or climbing stairs. Within reasonable modifications, must be physically able to perform efficiently the duties of the position. Any physical condition which could cause the applicant to be a hazard to him / her or to others will disqualify him / her for appointment.
  • IV. OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Provide consent and necessary information for a criminal background check.
  • Consents and submits to drug testing.
  • Provide a current TB clearance and verification of Hepatitis B vaccination. Consents and submits to drug testing according to agency policy and procedures.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • M-F, 4 to 5 days per week

    4 hours per day, preferably in mornings at 7am or afternoons at 5pm, flexible
