Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department position in Illinois requiring active IL RN licensure and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in a busy Emergency Room setting at a Level 1 Trauma Center65-bed ER with all private rooms and two trauma baysPatient population ranges from newborns to elderly with a wide variety of complaints and acuity levels, including critically ill, cardiac arrests, strokes, and both Level 1 and 2 trauma patientsRN to patient ratios typically between 1 : 3-5 depending on patient needsProvide care involving vasopressor and cardiac drip titrations, antihypertensive drugs, and moreShift is 3x12 hour days (7a-7p) with rotating weekends and holiday requirementsMay be floated as a 'help all' to other units, but not expected to take a full assignment when floatedUses EPIC EMR system, with orientation provided to charting and Phillips monitorsER nurses care for stabilized trauma patients after transfer from the trauma bay but do not typically serve as primary nurse in the trauma bayWork with a specialized trauma team, multiple physician attendings, charge nurses, house supervisors, and ED techsScrubs should be tasteful with solid colored shirts underneath; no required colorHoliday scheduling negotiable based on contractNo drug screen or COVID vaccine required for employmentLocal rates apply for candidates residing within 50 milesRequirements
Active IL RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum of 2 years emergency department nursing experience requiredCurrent ACLS, BLS, PALS (or ENPC), and TNCC (or TNS) certifications requiredAt least 1 prior travel assignment preferredProficiency with titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips requiredAbility to interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to life-threatening situationsExperience in teaching hospitals or SANE RN experience preferredBenefits
