Position Summary : The Fitter / Welder works with little or no instruction to perform a variety of welding processes and methods to weld all types of metals and alloys of various shapes, sizes, and thicknesses as needed for projects.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Use a variety of welding processes and methods to weld all types of metals to perform complete part fabrication in compliance with company quality standards.
• Complete fit-up of structure, pipe, accessories and tanks.
• Welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
• Identify various metals and alloys such as mild & high strength steel, aluminum, and stainless as well as identify structural shapes.
• Use measuring devices and gauges to determine thickness and size of metal.
• Use oxygen / acetylene torch for cutting metals.
• Use grinder and other hand or power tools required to grind, bevel, or fit metals together, and remove slag.
• Read and follow blue prints to determine structure or fit of parts that are being welded and are in compliance with the Method of Production Standard.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
