As an associate in RSM's growing Process Risk and Controls Practice, you will have the opportunity to develop into a seasoned consultant through a high degree of client and financial services industry exposure, career development and mentorship opportunities, and a diverse and inclusive culture. In the Process Risk and Controls Practice we frequently work as or alongside a client's internal audit function, the chief risk officer or risk function, Sarbanes-Oxley project team, and various other members of management tasked with managing risk. Our advisors help our clients with identifying and prioritizing risk and leveraging process and controls to reduce risk exposure.

Client Experience
Learn about various industries and clients that we serve in the middle market and leverage your understanding to become your clients' trusted advisorInteract with client process owners and external stakeholders while executing your roleDemonstrate critical thinking skill in gathering and processing information about a client's business, strategy, culture, competitive positioning, and operations in order to assist with risk assessmentPrepare initial drafts and follow-ups on client request listsDraft narratives or flowcharts and perform initial identification of controlsConduct tests of the operating effectiveness of clients' internal controls using test plans or work programs that have been written by senior members of the teamIdentify issues in the testing performed, such as deficiencies, observations, and recommendationsUnderstand the purpose and objectives of internal / external project status updates and provide relevant inputsProactively make oneself aware of white papers, webinars, and live events that are available to clientsTalent Experience

Bachelor's or master's degree.Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writingPreferred Qualifications
1 year of experience working for a financial institution, consulting firm, or regulatory agency, in internal audit, model validation, or controls testing.Qualified to pursue a job relevant certification (e.g. CPA, CIA)Openness to workday flexibility, agility, remote work environment, leveraging new toolsEffective time management and prioritization skillsStrong analytical, attention to detail, and organizational skills
