Position Summary :   Responsible for estimation and takeoffs of plumbing, HVAC including sheet metal and / or fire protection projects. The individual should have a good understanding of all aspects of estimating for mechanical contracting and be able to communicate effectively with contractors, designers, owners, and job-site personnel, while representing TP Mechanical Contractors in a professional manner.

Responsibilities and Duties :

• Reading and understanding project specifications and drawings.
• Provide project material takeoffs and pricing.
• Attends project site surveys and walks.
• Ability to obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Must stay current with all estimating software and attend training as needed and / or required.
• Provides the VP of Estimating quantitative material take-offs and inputs information into spreadsheets.
• Ensures smooth and timely estimates.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience :

5 years’ experience in commercial plumbing, heating, and or fire protection estimating, or completion of approved apprenticeship program and 3 years’ experience as a Journeyman.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents.

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, required.

Eyesight correctable to 20 / 50.

Valid driver’s license.
