Overview :
Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS’) is among the largest 100 pension systems in the United States. INPRS serves the needs of approximately over 500,000 members and retirees representing approximately over 1,400 employers, including public universities, school corporations, public safety, municipalities and state agencies. The Indiana Public Retirement System is a public pension fund who manages approximately over $50 billion in assets, making it one of the largest in the United States. We are located in the heart of the city, in downtown Indianapolis, near the circle & across the street from our monumental state house. This position will require Indiana state residency. T his position is not eligible for H-1B or any other kind of temporary or permanent sponsorship for work authorization by the Indiana Public Retirement System. Work Flexibility :
We, like many employers, have worked in a hybrid schedule since 2022 and now have returned to the office 100% ( 5 days a week). That said, we do understand and recognize the importance of work / life balance and flexibility for our workforce. Some flexible options consist of :
- Alternate Work Schedule; 1 or 2 days off a pay period by working an extra 1- 2 hours a day
- Ad Hoc Remote Work (Temporary); manager approved; 75 hours granted annually; 10 hours granted per pay period (use it or lose it - don’t roll over) work from home due to contractor at house, daycare closed, car issue, doctor appointment etc.
- Project Based Remote Work (Temporary); manager approved; complete online training course
Your Impact :
Incumbent works under limited supervision performing application systems analysis and programming duties. This encompasses performing application program design, development, unit testing, and defect correction. A strong working knowledge of one or more software development methodologies is expected along with familiarity with business problem analysis, system design and systems integration.
Essential Duties :
Designs, codes and debugs new and existing application software programs
Assists in preparing user requirements, functional design, physical design and other relevant system design components.Assists in research, fact-finding and analyzing user needs and problems required to develop and maintain information systems.Assists in the development of project cost and time estimates.Tests and debugs new and existing application software.Executes tasks in conformance of development techniques, standards, policies and procedures.Provides complete documentation for new or modified information systems and / or application software programs.Monitors completed application software systems to ensure proper execution and performance.
Promotes the goals and objectives of the IT Department.Performs related duties as required.Specific Skills (Salesforce)
Experience with the Salesforce platform, including declarative development, Lightning, programming languages, and APIs.Experience with Salesforce architecture.Knowledge of CI / CD standard processes and tools.Admin I, II, along with Developer I, and II certifications requiredOmni StudioExperience cloudJob Requirements :
Working knowledge of information systems design principles and new systems design techniques;Considerable knowledge of policies, standards, procedures, and techniques used for application development;Technical aptitude and solid understanding of programming concepts.Ability to perform problem solving and analytical analysis;Knowledge of application development software tools and application development software languages;Broad understanding of IT infrastructure and application interfaces, database concepts, and general IT concepts (e.g. virtualization, c ud computing, platforms).Considerable knowledge of system integration concepts to include file creation and ingestion, Web service development, and Application Programming Interface (API) calls;Working knowledge of both system and business applications and competent to work at the highest technical level and / or specialized area;Ability to work independently under general direction;Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with others;Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.A commitment to continuous professional development.A high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail.The ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.Flexibility to work as needed outside of traditional business hours when required.Experience working in a team environment under stringent time constraints.Experience and Qualifications :
Bachelors or Associate degree preferred2+ years’ experience developing and implementing IT solutionsSpecific Development Languages and Tools include :2+ years of software development experience
Proficiency in SQLOther beneficial experienceOracle Application Development Framework (ADF) or Oracle Forms
